Recently NOW Destinations sent newbie travel planner Caitlin Taylor to Jamaica to see first-hand a variety of different properties in the Montego Bay and Ocho Rios area. Teamed with a group of travel agents specializing in Destination Weddings/Romance Travel the main objective was to seek out wedding venues that would speak to clients. Here are her top three wedding resorts and what she had to say about them:

1. The Royalton Whitesands

For couples looking for that white sandy beach without the man rocking a speedo in the background of every photo; The Royalton White Sands really came through. They have a man-made private island about 15 meters from the shore, totally accessible by walking if you’re willing to carry your shoes and hike up the skirts to get there! The entire resort has been renovated from the bottom up  

2. Half Moon

Built on a crescent-shaped beach in Montego Bay the Half Moon Resort sits on an incredible amount of land and offers a wide variety of wedding locations scattered around the property. With a beachfront that offers dolphin views, colonial-inspired ballrooms, cobblestone terraces and the golf course as location options there is a venue for every taste and all locations can be completely private. The privacy is what makes this resort so fantastic, because of its size, even at full capacity you can rest assured that you won’t be photobombed or looked at by other guests.

3. The Jamaica Inn

Out of all the resorts I visited during my stay the Jamaica Inn was hands down my personal favorite. If you are looking to embrace a more classic look there is no better place to recommend. Boutique in style it was like stepping back in time to the 1950’s, sipping champagne cocktails on the terrace, palapas spread out across the beach, and stone slab pathways meandering across the grounds. With the option of beachfront, rooftop or terrace ceremony locations the best area by far to tie the knot was a beautiful grassy area, set atop a shallow cliff, over-looking the ocean with a sunset time slot!   

No matter what taste, style or budget Jamaica has a resort with a show-stopping venue for all couples.
