Did you know that 1 out of every 4 weddings is a destination wedding? This means that a quarter of couples are still opting to have a destination wedding! Destination weddings are on the rise and will continue to rise as global locations and access permits. Couples say that they want a unique, special, fun and exotic experience for their wedding. About 22% of all destination weddings are held in international destinations. Twenty three percent of weddings are held at least 200 miles away from home (up from 20% in 2008).
The average age of couples who want to have a destination wedding range from 25-34 years old. Half of initiate interest in planning their destination wedding is on a mobile device.
