Marriage Requirements
Getting a marriage license in St. Barts is a little more difficult than other Caribbean islands. St. Barts marriage licenses are under French law. Some of these requirements include bringing a complete dossier for a civil ceremony personally a month before the wedding. This is the biggest barrier, as the couple would have to travel to the island a month before their wedding. The dossier includes a letter of application, passports, birth certificates, divorce, and death decrees if applicable. Background information on both the couples parents and a certificate issued by the Consulate or Embassy. In addition, you may also need a translator at the ceremony.
