Casa Bonita Resort
Casa Bonita Resort
Located in Barahona, in the still unspoiled and secluded southwest region of the Dominican Republic, adjacent to the only biosphere reserve in the country.
Casa Bonita sits on a hilltop with an impressive view of the Caribbean Sea, nestled within a vast tropical forest surrounded by rivers and mountains.
This former private vacation retreat, still family owned, provides twelve rooms, “cabaña” style, that dramatically overlooks its surroundings. 12 deluxe rooms (6 with king size beds, 6 with two full size beds), each have: 348 sq ft, private balcony, air conditioner, ceiling fan, private bath with hot water and hair dryer, wine cooler, ipod ready radio clock, and modern tropical furnishings. The graphic art is by the acclaimed conservation photographer Eladio Fernandez.
Being consistent with Casa Bonita’s practice of supporting an ecological environment and running its operations supported by local resources, the menu is not only prepared and served by our local staff, it is also mainly elaborated with fresh local ingredients. Fish and mariscos (shellfish) are brought in daily from Bahoruco, the tiny fishing village nearby.
